..GAP Sexy Boyfriends
July 31, 2012 • GAP Outfit Post Piperlime Rachel Zoe Sexy boyfriend jean Urban Outfitters Yellow
The deets: GAP jeans (destroyed myself) Rachel Zoe heels; Piperlime clutch & top; Urban Outfitters sunnies; Earrings c/o JEWELIQ; Tiffany & LOFT bracelets.
I am positively obsessed with the "sexy boyfriend" jean from GAP. I have not shopped there in so long but kept seeing these fabooshka bloggers like Kendi rocking them and decided to get me a pair. Three months later they are my favorite broken in, perfect for dressing up or down denim. I think I might go back to get a pair that I will keep sans rips in a darker wash (the exact ones I have on are no longer available). I usually hate wearing jeans because they make me feel like a tree-stumpy little waddler (I'm not entirely sure what I mean by that but it feels right...I guess waddler = shawty with a booty in tight jeans) but these do not!
So, I guess were getting pretty serious, you and I. We've been in this blog-ationship for a whole year now and well, I know it's a kind of a big deal so I wanted to get you something really special...but you guys are like so hard to shop for and I wasn't sure quite what you wanted so I did some serious thinking and decided that you come back to me each day to hear about the things I currently covet, so I put together a little compilation of some of those very things. I hope you like it! Happy Blogiversary!!
Giftbox includes:
One Lancome "Rouge in Love" Lipstick
One Essie nail polish
Cat-eye sunnies
Sweet treats from my favorite local bakery, Buzz
A bauble from my favorite local shop, Fornash
Some other mystery goodies

Erin
But seriously...
It's really amazing to me that I have been blogging for an entire year now. I know some of you might be thinking "uh, so what, I've been blogging for much longer than that sista!" but for me it's quite a feat as I usually can't even commit to a project or hobby long enough to reap the fruits of my labor (my "craft" bin is full of half crocheted scarfs, unfinished jewelry, and canvases still wrapped in plastic). I really do think a large part of the reason I was able to stick to it this time is all the wonderful people I have met through this blog (in real life and virtually) encouraging me throughout my experience. I just want to take a minute to say thank you so much, I am always so stunned that people actually take a couple minutes out of their days to peak into a small part of my life. I appreciate your readership so much! Thank you again! I love my little blogger fam, you all are the lights of my life! (for now...until you get bumped down the list when I eventually get knocked up).
Now enter to win some of my favorite things!!!!! Yipee!

I know it's not really cool anymore to perfectly match your outfits, it's all about color blocking, pattern mixing, ombre, monotone, making yourself look as crazy unique and decorated as possible, blah blah blah. I realize all of this and have to say, as you guys have probably picked up on by now if you read my blog often, I do it anyway because... IMMA DO WHAT I DANG WELL PLEASE! THAT'S WHY!
Have a lovely Thursday, everyone!
Homemade enchiladas!
I'm not even sure I can call them that because I'm sure they are not nearly as delicious as you would get at an authentic Mexican restaurant or made by someone who is actually of Mexican descent, but it's my attempt and they were delicious in their own make-everything-easier-American-way (I cut a lot of corners here, peeps). Recipe below.
Ingredients
1 roasted chicken (pulled, should make at least two cups)
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon butter
1 onion (chopped)
1 can (4 oz) chopped green chili peppers
1 small can of corn
6 (8inch) flour tortillas
1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon taco seasoning
Directions (adapted from all recipes)
1. Preheat oven to 350 and mix the soup and sour cream together in a bowl and set aside.
2. Use butter to saute the onion in a large pan. Add chili powder and taco seasoning. When onion is cooked through, add chicken, green chili peppers, corn, and 2 tablespoons worth of the soup mixture and continue to cook for a couple minutes.
3. In a baking dish lined with tin foil spread some of the soup mixture on the bottom to coat, then stuff each of the six tortillas with the chicken mixture and roll them up. Set them side by side in the backing dish (seem side down), coat them with the rest of the soup mixture, and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
4. Bake for about 20 minutes (until cheese is bubbly) and enjoy.
..Maxi-mum Coziness
July 23, 2012 • J.Crew JEWELIQ Maxi-dress Outfit Post Rachel Zoe Urban Outfitters
The deets: J.Crew chambray shirt; Banana Republic maxi (very old); Rachel Zoe heels; Urban Outfitter sunnies; Earrings c/o JEWELIQ; Piperlime clutch.
It was rainy all weekend here in DC and I had a housewarming get together to attend for one of my besties. I was caught in the middle of wanting that cozy-up-on-the-couch-while-it-rains feeling and wanting to look nice for the party so I decided on this comfy cotton maxi. I really thought it needed a jacket of some sort because of the icky weather but jean jackets feel a little dated on me so I opted for just tying this chambray shirt up around my waist to keep it more casual. Since I am 5'2 I of course had to break out my highest heels to ensure my dress wouldn't drag in the rain. I actually loved how it all felt together. I didn't, however, really think about the logistics of a floor length dress and 6 inch heels and I now have the skinned knee I earned on the dirty CVS carpet to prove it. Yup, I did a sliding-into-homebase-wipeout in a packed convenient store. Good thing I was able to run out of there and never see those people again since I had already made my purchase right? Only I forgot my umbrella at the checkout. It was fun having to walk back into the store where people were still visibly laughing to retrieve it. Good times.

So, I have to admit that unlike some of you lucky ladies and gents out there, I do not have a glamorous job. I sit in a cube in front of a computer and run reports, send "give us our money" emails to investors, and mostly just make long lists of tedious mindless work that needs to get done just to experience a tiny bit of joy when I get to cross it off in my pink pen. You know what makes my day even ickier? Wearing something that I don't feel pretty in. Which brings me to my main point. It may sound a teeny bit crazy, but I can honestly say that when I am wearing something bright and feminine that I feel like myself in, my whole day really is better. Happy outfits make for happy employees, happy employees make for a happy workplace, a happy workplace makes for higher quality output so basically the equation comes out to the following:
It may not be what I want to be wearing if stuck in an elevator with my boss's boss's boss, but it's a risk worth taking to make my life a bit more enjoyable, so suck it boring conservative color-wheel! Oh yes I went there.
1 cute outfit + 1 Erin + 1 workday = MORE PRODUCTIVITY! (or something like that).

Just a little Hump-day treat for you to feast your eyes on that a friend pointed out to me last week. I hear shopping budgets rejoicing everywhere! Yipee!

..Beachy Bachelorette Goody-Buckets
July 16, 2012 • bachelorette beach DIY goody bags Love thank you Wedding
This past weekend I participated in one of the most fun bachelorette parties I've ever been to. We beached all day long, and partied all night. It was a really fun and adorable group of ladies and I wish we could do it all over again. These were the little goody-bucket thank you's that that we (the bridesmaids) put together for all the attendees. You can see what sweet swag is stuffed inside below. The bride obviously got the big bucket and a few more goodies. My favorite thing was the nautical custom tank. We were like a big parade of 14 wild women on the loose in Dewey Beach!

The deets: Piperlime top & clutch; Express skirt; Sam Edelman heels; Ray-Ban sunnies; Fornash, South Moon Under, ASOS, and Michael Kors wrist candy.
When I first laid eyes on this little number I gasped in excitement. Rainbow, chevron, AND sparkles? Heaven. When I saw the price-tag, not so fabulous. I mean, can't a girl get a reasonably priced sparkly-rainbow-chevron mini around here or what?
Good thing I found this little gem just one day earlier at a price I could get down with. Happiness achieved.
Hey peeps, remember when I said "look out for a chance to win these earrings and this ring?" Well the time has finally come to give away some free swag! Not one but TWO winners will have their choice of one of the following two items below, sweet right?
Requirements for the giveaway are below but I have made sure there are tons of other ways to cash in some free entries. Good luck!

Friday date nights with the boy are the best, especially when you can foot the entire bill with birthday gift-cards. Free steak = yipeeeee! What's not so great is doing the mad dash to get ready since you don't get home from work until close to 7PM. This is why I love this little top, just switch out your white pencil for white shorts, lose the nude pumps for some fun colored ones, swipe on bright lipstick, and presto-chango, you are ready to go!
..My Top 10 Beach Essentials
July 10, 2012 • beach Clinique J.Crew Nordstrom style ten beach essentials Urban Outfitters vacation
I'm headed to Dewey Beach, DE for the next five days for a fabulous bestie bachelorette getaway. Above you can find my actual beach bag and all the items you can find inside that I'll be using in real life with notes on why I chose them. I'd like to think I'm a pretty simple beach going-girl. I'd love to know what your essentials are when headed to the shore!

The deets: Tobi dress; Zara shoes; J.Crew belt; Tiffany bracelet; Ring c/o Too Much Soul; Yurman necklace; Express clutch (old).
I feel like recently I have been very neglectful of silver. Gold came in with all its pretty shiny fabulosity and stole all my attention, so I've been making it a point to spend some more quality time with my silver accessories so they don't think I've abandoned them. I know it's not as cool as it once was, but I still love it paired up with a fresh minty blue color. Do you guys still rock silver? I'd love to know!
P.S. Look out for a chance to win a ring like mine later in the week!!
The deets: Tobi dress; Earrings c/o Too Much Soul; Boutique 6 heels; Necklace (old from my Jersey girl upbringing); Yurman ring; ASOS, South Moon Under and Fornash Bracelets; Michael Kors watch.
I think I do a pretty thorough job of showing you all my work style through this blog. While it is so much fun to show you how I'm bringing my personality to the workplace, I also have another (more fun) side of me that you guys don't really get to see. Confession: this girl likes to party. I like it a lot. I like to shake my tail feather all over this great country, from Vegas, to NY, even here in Northern VA, and DC, and I think I want to show you more of the fun stuff. Here is the outfit I wore to Tenjune in NYC last Friday with some besties (blurry photo on the bottom). Here;s to another fabulous weekend!
P.S. Look out next week for a chance to win a pair of these earrings from Too Much Soul!
