I know floral print isn't really a winter thing, but I'm just going to pretend it's Spring for a day even though the wind was INSANE while these photos were taken. The thicker material of the dress along with the blazer help keep the outfit wearable in the cold. I can never say no to a solid work dress!

How about subbing out pumpkin pie this year for brown butter pumpkin cupcakes with cinnamon cream cheese icing and adorable leafy fall sprinkles? This is honestly one of my absolute favorite cupcake recipes and each time I make them they seem to be a a crowd pleaser so I think it's safe to say your friends and family will share my opinion. I found these adorable baking cups and fall themed sprinkles at my local party store for extra festivity. I also couldn't resist snatching up one of the gorgeous fallen leaves from the neighborhood to serve as a natural "doily" of sorts.

You have seen me rock my E+J cat eye sunnies on this blog like roughly eight thousand times (what can I say? I stick to what I like). One day whilst perusing the F21 accessories selection I came across these IDENTICAL sunnies that cost LESS THAN SIX DOLLARS. For reals. How crazy awesome is that? You are welcome.

How fabulous are these lux little iPhone cases? They might be a bit pricey coming in around $100, but for how much wear these things get each and every day, I think they would make the perfect gift for that fancy pants in your life. Not only are they super glitzy and fun, they all have THE COOLEST names, do they not?

Soup season is upon us. The six above are my favorites from blog posts of yesteryear. I'd like to think there is a little sumpin' sumpin' for everybody here whether your taste is creamy, spicy, cheesy, or even healthy. Enjoy!

..Plaid Pencil Skirts

I love these plaid pencils. You can wear them to work but also rock them to a holiday party and feel festive and appropriate. They work with booties, heels, or boots and can be paired with a cozy sweater or a fancy blouse. My favorite items are ones that can get lots of play and these really seem to be multi-functional in the best way.

1. A peek into why being happy and in love can actually sometimes make us sad!
2. Perfect little gift idea: this mug, some seasonal coffee or cocoa, and a classic movie.
3. If I were hosting Thanksgiving in my imaginary huge home, this would definitely be the table-scape of my dreams.
4. The differences between NYC and Paris in cute graphic images.

Neautrals: OPI "You Don't Know Jacques" & Essie "Chinchilly" | Muted Greens: Essie "Vested Interest" & "For the Twill of It" | Moody Purples: OPI "Pamplona Purple" & Essie "Carry On" | Deep Cool Tones: Essie "After School Boy Blazer" & "No More Film"
These are the colors I have been gravitating towards this season. I typically jump from one color pallet to the next, never using two from the same color family in a row. There is just something that feels very on point with how I feel this time of year displayed in this polish color wheel. What are your favorites?
The deets: Vest c/o Joules; J.Crew boots (similar & on sale) and button down (similar); GAP jeans; Rebecca Minkoff bag; Michael Kors watch; necklace c/o INPINK; Ray-Ban sunnies; Essie "For the Twill of It" polish; Lancome "Wannabe" lipstick.
Okay, first can we just address the gorgeous foliage that is happening in my neighborhood? This is my first Autumn in my new hood and it's so stunning! Anyway, I just ADORE this warm puffy vest from Joules (a fun little British clothing company that finally decided to cross the pond - yay for America!). It really is such a great quality-made piece! I even have to admit that I love it more than the vest I have been faithful to from GAP for the last 10 years. I actually wore this vest to my company field day this week, and even though we had rain, wind, and some chilly temps, I stayed nice and warm (and obviously cute). I think my favorite part about it is the floral lining detail, it makes something that can be a little bit too "active-wear" for my taste stay feminine and stylish. It really is the bomb dot com! I really love it.

This little pie was so delicious I basically ate the entire thing myself. I am not actually a big fan of apple pie, I am more of a cheesecake, pumpkin, or berry type of gal but since we picked these amazing apples ourselves from Carter Mountain Orchard (gorgeousness documented below) and because I went a little cray cray bringing home 11 lbs of them or so, I thought I should probably try my hand at this American favorite. My first go round I used all green apples, and while it was really yummy I made a second one with one Granny Smith, two Fugi, and two Pink Ladies and the flavor was much more complex and to my liking. It may not be traditional to use an array of apples but I'm starting a new trend. I promise you won't regret it! I also totally cheated and bought store crust bc frankly I HATE rolling out my own and ain't nobody got time for that. Okay I do...but I didn't anyway.
*Recipe was adapted from here (I made quite a few changes though, so I'd follow along below).
Pie
1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust
5 medium size apples - peeled, cored, sliced (1 Granny Smith, 2 Fugi, 2 Pink Ladies)
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon ginger
Lay out unbaked crust in your pie dish. Put all your apple slices in a bowl and toss them in the sugar/spice mixture util fully coated then put them in your pie crust.
Crumbs
1/3 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 stick of butter
Cut butter into sugar and flour mixture until crumbly then spread evenly over pie. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes.

As I spent last weekend picking apples, baking apples, and grilling apples I thought, why not wear some too? I haven't broken out this skirt in a while and it just seemed like the appropriate week to do so. I currently have a small case of the Monday's, so I'm off to chug some coffee to combat it. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
