Just a little FYI for all you ladies that are spending the next few days taking back whacky Christmas gifts and cashing in on gift cards - Shopbop is throwing an extra 25% off all sale items! Make sure you hit up this amazing sale during your post holiday shopping spree. I definitely have a few things left on my wishlist.
The deets: Express sweater and leggings (similar); Zara heels; Monserat De Lucca clutch; J.Crew tassel necklace; Baublebar earrings and bar necklace; Revlon "Certainly Red" lipstick.
Being back in NJ for the holiday for a whole week was seriously amazing. I honestly can't remember a time in over six years that I was able to spend more than four or five days with my family so it was a true treat. I got to catch up with old high school friends (this is the outfit I wore to meet them for drinks by the water), eat amazing Italian food, bake and decorate cookies from scratch with my sister, spend so much time with my family, give gifts, and the weather was this amazing cherry on top. Can you believe it was almost 60 degrees? Cray. You can see a few other moments from my trip home here.
Merry Christmas & happy "paw-lidays" from my fur clan to yours! I have said it once and I will say it again, I think I missed my calling as pet photographer. Each year my Christmas card gets better and better (see last year and the year before). I will be taking some time off next week to travel, be with my family, bake cookies, and do all those Christmas-y things that make me happy. I hope you get to do the same.

December 17, 2014 • Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Christmas currently coveting deborah lippmann Fashion J.Crew Kate Spade Ralph Lauren Rebecca Minkoff style wishlist
Bobbi Brown Nude Pallet | PJs | Gloves | Earrings | Kate Spade Bracelet | Gift Boutique Candle | Polish | Perfume | Rebecca Minkoff Clutch
I know things can get a little repetitive and overwhelming with gift guides around this time of year for anyone who spends time reading blogs, and I definitely don't want to inundate you with another one, so this year I have opted to not do any! I mean, who am I to tell you what to buy for your loved ones, right? Right. I have, however, come up with a wishlist of my own which usually (selfishly) helps my friends, family, and boyfriend out as I have been told I am a hard person to shop due to my particular taste.
In general, when I am gifting others, I try to stay away from things that they'd probably need to try on first (shoes, bottoms, etc), which leaves me in a few fool proof safety zones: beauty, accessories, home decor, and cozy lounge wear. I really feel like no girl has ever said they have enough earrings, clutches, perfume, or fancy candles. We just love them, we always want more, it's in our DNA. These are some things that fall into those categories that I would be MORE than excited to see under the tree this year.
..Christmas Cake Batter Cookies
December 14, 2014 • Christmas cookie swap cookies recipe recipe post
I made these cookies for the blogger cookie swap last week. Each person receives the addresses of three other food bloggers. They you send each of them one dozen homemade cookies and you also receive three different boxes of cookies made by other bloggers. Each participant posted their cookie recipe today, check them out to get some great ideas for the holidays!
Ingredients
1 box white cake mix
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
8 oz cream cheese (1 package)
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
8 oz cream cheese (1 package)

1 cup Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips

1.75 oz red and green sprinkles
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth then beat in the egg, vanilla, and sprinkles. Gradually add in the cake mix until you create a dough. The deets: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in "Mont Blanc," "Laguna" bronzer; Bobbi Brown "Peony" blush; Laura Mercier "1" concealer; MAC "Mystery" shadow in brows & as eyeliner; Bobbi Brown lip pencil in "Brown" used as lipstick with Burt's Bees balm; Benefit "They're Real" mascara. Cute robe is from VS and was a bridesmaid gift.
We all have that special group of products that are on that very short "if runs out, must replace immediately" list. This mascara is on my list. At roughly $23 a tube (which is my only gripe, I know it's not the most budget friendly) I don't use it everyday because that would be crazy, but on the weekends, or any time I want to look my glam-iest, you can bet your booty I am going to swipe on some They're Real mascara. It is basically the closest thing you can get to magic potion. While I have raved about this product before, below I have actually photographed my lashes with one side au natural (the rest of my makeup is done) and one side with the mascara. It is just crazy how many lashes come literally out of nowhere. This I swear to you is ONLY the mascara, no falsies added at all! Not to be pun-y but this shiz is the real deal.
The deets: Skin: Laura Mercier foundation primer; MUFE HD Foundation in 115; Laura Mercier concealer in 1; NARS "Laguna" bronzer; NARS"Copacabana" Multiple used as highlighter; Bobbi Brown "Peony" blush & Bobbi Brown"pale yellow" powder to set. Eyes: MAC "Cork" shadow in brows; Urban Decay original primer; Naked 2 pallet colors used: "Foxy" on brow bone, "Tease" in the crease, "Booty Call" on the lid, "Blackout" used as under eyeliner and Clinique black liquid liner on top; L'Oreal waterproof Voluminous mascara; two Kiss Trio individual lashes used in medium on each eye. Lips: Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Orchid.

Scenes of a bride and her posse getting ready for a wedding were never more perfectly captured. The messy pile of snacks/beauty products really says it all if you ask me. The cute robes that were given as bridesmaid gifts made for really cute prep photos! Anyway, back to the point of this post: bridal beauty. I highly recommend the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallet, I used it on almost everyone I did makeup on this day (MOB, bridesmaids, bride) but the specific details listed above are from the bride.
Other posts from this wedding here here and here. You can find other examples of wedding makeup I have done here and here.
2. A cute little "For Your Mistletoes" pedicure in a jar idea that would make the best little gift for the girls in your life!
3. I feel like I need an ear crawler. This one is affordable and would be the perfect touch of holiday glam.
4. 100 years of beauty in one minute! So fun to see. I think the 50's-70's are my favorites.
The deets: Express leggings and top; Ray-Ban sunnies; BCBGeneration booties; J.Crew necklace; Shashi bracelet; Steve Madden bag.
I definitely don't consider myself a fashion expert, so when I find a good pair of faux leather leggings that you can easily pair with flowy tops, chunky sweaters, or even tees, I get excited. Anything that helps make it easier for me to look current/chic is always a good idea. I wore this Saturday to a very deliciously rich Italian bday dinner for one of my girlfriends and I have to say the elastic waistband came in handy by the end of the night.
Just a quick post today on these adorable bachelorette goody bag favors that were actually from back in May. I recently found these snaps I took of them and felt the need to share their cuteness with the world. I actually wish I got more photos of the goody-bag contents in their entirety because they were seriously bomb (we spent the weekend in NYC and there were all kinds of cute NYC themed things stuffed in there like Essie's "Fifth Avenue" polish, apples, etc.). Everyone who came out for her got one of these "YOU CAN'T SIT WITH US" bracelets to take home. How sweet, right? I think these could make super fun gifts for any occasion, not just a bachelorette party. I think they would also be great for engraving with "BESTIES" and then gifting them out to all your girls at the secret Santa party you are hosting/attending because we all know you are never too old to profess your love for your friends to the world.
The deets: F21 beanie (also love these 1717 Olive ones); J.Crew turtleneck; AG Adriano Goldschmied jeans; DV Dolce Vita booties; Joules vest.
Last week I spent Thanksgiving day at my boyfriend's parents house which is only a short 40 minute trip compared to the usual long vacation spent up in NJ with my family. They throw a very low key dinner with just five people which is a different experience for me coming from one of those enormous families that have to push three dining room tables together in order to contain the craziness to one room. It was unseasonably warm so a full jacket wasn't necessary but I do feel strongly about being cozied up on a day where you intend to eat way to much to be comfortable in anything but a forgiving sweater, hence this outfit's birth.
