The deets: LOFT dress (40% off today!) c/o Fairfax Corner; Zara heels (old); Gigee Marie clutch; Shop Esra bracelets (local brands!); J.Crew earrings (identical); Elizabeth and James sunnies.
This is probably my favorite shape of all time. You've seen it here time and time again, but the fit and flare dress can just DO NO WRONG in my book. Keep 'em comin. Although I have had a very strong penchant for striped dresses recently and almost reached for another while shopping at LOFT for the perfect dress to wear to the Style, Sips & Sweets event, I eventually made my way over to these pretty dots and knew it was the one. Last one in the store in my size, you guys know that obviously means it's meant to be!
Why not bedazzle a bottle of your friends favorite liquor for her bridal shower/bachelorette? It's a little time consuming but makes for a pretty accessory for your girl to get her drink on in glitzy style. The steps are pretty obvious, buy gems and super glue, glue them on to bottle (le duh), but I thought I would share a couple other tips I learned to make it a little easier.
1. This seems silly and time consuming but if you buy your gems in bulk like I did (I got four cases from here), it helps to sort your shapes and colors ahead of time so you can create some kind of organized pattern. If you don't know how many blue squares v. pink hearts you have, etc. you might end up with a haphazard design mid way through.
2. Glue the bottle first if you can! I can't tell you how many times I got my fingers stuck together (or bedazzled) because one of those little buggers flipped over on me.
3. Let it dry over night before wrapping. DONE!

..The South Block Juice Cleanse
May 21, 2014 • health kick Juice cleanse juicing South Block Cafe South Block Juice
South Block Cafe was nice enough to let me try out their juice cleanse (c/o) so I decided the best way to really review my experience was to get into the nitty-gritty day by day, details are below!
Day 1: Juice No. 1 "Detox" went down pretty easy. I drank it while I was getting ready for work so I had one less juice to lug into the office. It kept me feeling satisfied until the next juice No. 2 "Glow" which was hands down my favorite, pineapple heaven! I could drink that one all day. I didn't really feel any hunger or discomfort all day. The most "hungry" I felt was between the second and third juices. The third juice, No. 3 "Greens" was my least favorite. Not going to lie, this one took me about thirty minutes to get down, I really am not a fan of celery and parsley together but it did fill me up nicely. After the third juice I actually had to keep pushing back the times I had originally set to drink each juice (about two hours apart) because I wasn't hungry enough for them. I ended up spacing them out about 2.5 hours for the last four.
The only moment through out all of day one I really thought it was hard was when my boyfriend was cooking turkey sausage for his own dinner in our small apartment. The smell of meaty salty food was a bit tough to fight but I stayed strong. The No. 6 "Caveman Mylk" was definitely another favorite and the most satisfying of the day. It tastes like a cinnamon-y cereal. I drank mine at about 8:30pm and woke up as if I had a whole meal the night before, no hunger pangs at all!
Day 2: I kept the same timing of each of my juices from the day before since it had worked out so nicely by setting alarms on my phone. I did notice something strange happening, I was scrolling through Instagram and was more drooly over the photos of salads than of the beautiful desserts. Weird! I hope this is for real and not all in my head. I'd love to crave salads over sweets in real life.
Day 3: I feel even better than I did on day 2. I feel slight sadness when I realize I am on my last "Glow" as it is my favorite. I even went to a boutique trunk show that had a gorgeous candy bar display and felt no desire to eat any of it! In fact I spent the rest of the evening researching and preparing healthful meals for myself for the next couple of days so I could keep myself on track. WHO AM I?
In the end I would HIGHLY recommend this juice cleanse. If I can do it, literally ANYONE can. It was such a surprise to me to feel how easy it was to do and how beneficial it really ended up being. While I didn't work out during the cleanse since I am a first time juicer and was nervous about burning up all my calories, I think I definitely could have if I timed it right. I worked out the day after and felt fabulous! I am totally converted, I even picked up a few green juices to supplement here and there throughout the week. I feel more in tune with my body then I have in a long time so it was definitely worth it.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray | John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster
Do you hear that? It's the sound of the skies parting, birds chirping, little cherubs fluttering around, and that magical "ahhhhh" sound that is reserved for miracles, because that is exactly what these two products are. For all my fellow fine haired ladies out there who just want big Texas hair (or in my case Jersey) and can't seem to get the right lift...this root booster is your new bestie. Spritz a generous amount at the roots of your towel dried hair (mostly at the crown) massage in a little and blow dry your hair upward. YOU WILL BE AMAZED how much volume comes quite literally out of nowhere. After you are finished (you could just stop at this step but if you want the real big hair), spray a few layers of your crown area with a little Oribe dry texturizing spray (which smells like delicious perfume and doubles as a dry shampoo) and backcomb. They both are a little more expensive as far as hair products go, but I don't do it every day. You will just die and go to hair heaven, so I say it's worth it!
Currently Coveting is also on Twitter, FB, Instagram, Bloglovin, and Pinterest.
P.S. Don't forget to enter the Personalized Alphabet Pendant Necklace Giveaway!

I recently did my cousin's makeup for her wedding in April. She wanted the "vintage" look to go with the vibe of her dress which was polka-dotted and to her shins. We went with a full wing and and a bold lip to get the look, and yes those are her real lashes, no falsies required! I think she looks so beautiful I just had to share. You can also see the engagement photos I took of her and her husband back in September, here.

Sunday was the perfect sunny spring day to put on a swingy fit & flare dress and walk around DC, which is exactly what I did after a Mother's Day lunch with my boyfriends family at Fogo de Chao. It's light and airy with a gorgeous full skirt. The best part is that this little summer staple rings in UNDER $40. Yes, I know, seems too good to be true! You MUST check out The Pink Armoire and all their adorable and affordable options. You will fall in love. We popped into J.Crew on our walk and the salesman immediately asked me where my dress was from and was in disbelief that is wasn't one of their own. I have a beach wedding this weekend in NC and will probably forgo what I had planned for this dress because it's just so perfect!
As if you couldn't tell from the three-hundred cupcake recipes I've posted on this blog, I haven't always been what you would call a "health conscious" person. I am also VERY anti-diet. For me, they just don't work. I can't stick to them and I love the taste of delicious food so going cold turkey just isn't my route. With that said, I have been trying to make an effort in the last six months or so to start implementing better lifestyle choices like working out a few times a week, drinking more water, and alternating cooking healthful dinners every other night with my boyfriend. I recently tried all three of the recipes above and have to say they are easy, good for you, and absolutely delicious. In case anyone was looking for some inspiration, give these a try!

As a working girl, I couldn't put my spring essentials together and not include a great office appropriate look. I love me a good pencil skirt. I immediately saw this print when I walked into LOFT and went for it like a moth to the flame. Since the skirt I picked was quite bold I thought it best to keep the rest of the look pretty minimal so I picked two must have's that go great with EVERYTHING: a nice neutral colored blouse and aviators!
1. A fun printed pencil skirt for work that transitions nicely to after hours drinks $69.50 (link)
