Easter Sunday calls for springy floraly pastels. Luckily I had this one laying around from a wedding I went to last summer (seen here). I sometimes forget I already have something that fits the bill in many situations. This hasn't had a lot of play and I love when I get to use an item from my closet almost like it's a new piece! Perfect for church & dinner with my soon to be in-laws.
..Chocolate Caramel Funfetti Bars
March 23, 2016 • dessert Eats and Sweets food funfetti recipe recipe post
So if you follow me on snapchat (@erinhabes) you know I'm currently doing a Whole30 (day 17). I know, it's seriously masochistic to bake delicious treats like this when you can't even lick the spoon after you're done but one of my best friends just had the cutest baby girl and I wanted to take them some really fun treats - key word is fun - as in FUNFETTI (the best cake flavor of all time - you can find my other funfetti recipes here and here - WHERE is my sponsorship already, Pillsbury?). The recipe I used is here, I followed it exactly except I just swapped out white cake mix for funfetti mix because popping out a baby deserves a little celebration!
INGREDIENTS
1 box (18.25 oz) funfetti mix
5 oz evaporated milk
¼ cup butter, melted
40 Rolo Candies, unwrapped and cut in half
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°
Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray.
With your mixer, beat cake mix, evaporated milk and butter until combined. Mixture will be thick and sticky.
Divide batter in half and press 1 half into the bottom of the pan.
Bake until just set, approximately 8-9 minutes.
Remove base from oven and place Rolo candies, caramel-side down on top.
Drop remaining batter on top of Rolos in teaspoon sized amounts.
Bake for 20-24 minutes longer until top begins to golden.
Cool completely before cutting into squares.

When the weather rationers hand you 75 and sunny in the middle of March you take that gift and RUN. Run to your closet to pull out the most airy, springy, twirly dress you have and you wear the you know what out of that dress. I have a special place in my heart for all things light pink gingham and light blue stripes. When I see these two patterns I buy them because they just give me good vibrations. I may have broken this one out twice in the last seven days. Thank you, weather people. For once that little groundhog did not tell a lie. Hello, spring. I have missed you.

I guess if I'm going to put in the time to actually blog, I'm going to blog about whats taking over my brain, and currently, that's everything wedding event attire. I am a little type A when it comes to outfit planning for anything out of my daily routine so being in a wedding year has me a little crazy to say the least. So many shower, bachelorette, and rehearsal looks to pin down. As it's looking like I might have three different showers in three different states, I feel like I need a spreadsheet for everything (I may already have one, folks). Somewhere along the way I realized I do in fact want to wear white at my events, at first I thought I wouldn't want to be that traditional but when I was entertaining other colors I felt a teeny tiny bit of sadness. These are some of the more "fun" looks I've been entertaining that aren't going to fall into the expected all white look but won't completely fall out of the "bride to be white dress" category either. Also, I know I am yammering on about "bridal" blah blah but you can totally wear all of these looks to any springtime event!
..Current Beauty Favs: Drug Store Gems

I know this one post a week thing is basically like I've stopped blogging altogether. I will try to pick up the pace to my normal three a week by the end of the month. Wedding planning is a giant beast of a time eater, I'm sorry. Anyway - I gave you my favorite luxury products last week so it's only fair that I share the less pricey ones that are just as great.
1. It's a 10 Miracle Leave in Product. This stuff is wonderful. You can get it at the salon but most drug stores and grocery stores stock it now. It's definitely one of those products that when I'm out, I immediately go get a new one as if it were deodorant. I have slightly curly hair right out of the shower so it is my adult de-tangler.
2. Organix Penetrating Argan Oil of Morocco. I love this stuff for when my hair just feels at it's worst. When it's just too dry, beaten, and tangly. I don't use this every day but when I need it I rub a little in my ends and it really helps.
3. Suave Professionals Luxe Plump Hold Hair Spray. Okay in full disclosure Suave sent me a big box of products so I did get this for free but of the 10 plus products in there this one is AMAZING. I literally have to yell at my fiance to not use it because he likes it too and I don't want it to run out on me unexpectedly. It's so great for waves or curls that you want to hold but also be move-able and voluminous.
4. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, Renewing SA Cream, and Healing Ointment. The words "Non-comedogenic" were introduced to me last year when I finally went to a dermatologist for my crazy late twenties skin change. All the sudden I was breaking out every week with cystic acne and wasn't properly dealing with it because I had no experience with it. I was afraid to use moisturizer because it would make it worse, but my skin was then so dry that it would over produce oil and the cycle continued. After three months of medication and only using these CeraVe products it worked like a CHARM. I now haven't had a breakout like that since that trip to the Dr. These products moisturize but don't get oily or clog your pores, hence the "Non-comedogenic."
5. E.L.F. Studio Blush Brush. I don't actually use this for blush. When I need to powder (which is only when I need to set full foundation for events, etc) this is a awesome powdering brush. I like one that can get in all the nooks and crannies but also be light and sort of "dance" all around your face. This one is SO cheap and works great for those needs.
