The deets: J.Crew skirt (similar) and blazer (similar); similar tee (this one was a Marshall's find); Madewell heels (similar); Elizabeth and James sunnies; Lancome "Wannabe" lipstick; Knox Thomas Designs bracelets; Balenciaga bag.
Its been a minute since I posted a work #ootd but trust me, they happen on the daily. One of my most fashionably trusted friends told me I looked cute when I wore this so I decided to send it to the blogosphere. That's right, I posted TWICE this week - break out the champs! I love a black and white ensemble that has a pop of a bright pastel, it's my favorite. Today is my Friday, which is also my favorite. I'm headed to NJ for a long weekend to cross off some things from my wedding to-do list. Give me all the wedding cake.
The deets: Madewell fringe sweater and jeans; BCBG booties; J.Crew pendant; Balenciaga bag; Prada sunnies; Knox Thomas Designs bracelets; Lancome "Wannabe" lipstick.
I never have received so many compliments on a sweater from men in my life. My fiance loves it, my friends husbands love it (one said it looked like cozy "couch" material that he'd want to wear himself), and more imporantly, I love it! It's easy and fringy and is very cool-spring to warm-spring transitional. I throw it on A LOT (work and play) so I say it's totally worth the price! I also have fallen madly in love with Madewell jeans. I bought this same pair in white!

The deets: Lovers + Friends bodycon dress; Forever 21 Strapless Lace Dress; Self Portrait Azalea Lace Dress; Lulu*s Ivory Lace Midi Dress.
It's been a while since I did a "Luxe Look for Less" post (see all of them here) and on my white dress hunt in the year of my wedding I have come across some great dupes! After longing and obsessing over that Self Portrait gorgeousness I purchased the Lulu*s version for a possible shower option.
..Product Review: Luminess Air Airbrush Makeup System
April 12, 2016 • Beauty beauty chat luminess airbrush makeup MAMA review
So let me explain the slightly bizarre glamour shots below. No, I am not having head shots done for some newly discovered desire to go into show business, I tried out an at home makeup airbrushing system, Luminess Air! Full disclosure, I was sent the product c/o and asked to review it honestly. I actually kept putting off trying it out because I didn't have a ton of faith that I would be able to execute as the word "airbrush" alone is intimidating and makes me think, "expert," which I am definitely not! Last Sunday seemed to be a perfect time to try it out, I didn't have plans to go anywhere so if it ended badly, no harm done.
I was SO very wrong. It was surprisingly simple and easy! You literally just follow the steps in the manual or there is even a free app that helps you here. I just dropped in about eight drops of primer first and began lightly spraying it all over to get a feel for it before using any actual color. After that I basically already had a handle on the tool and used the matte formula in color "2" all over my face to even out skin tone. I then used "4" as a bronzer (although I'm sure some folks would just be "4" all over their face, depends on your tone). I finished up by adding some of the illuminator to my cheekbones. The whole process took about FIVE MINUTES! Seriously. And I don't think I have ever had a more pleasant foundation experience in my life. No working the brushes into the product and then skin, just spritz over your face, no work required, your delicate face skin is unbothered. I feel like the photos don't even do it justice, the end result was so flawless I kept staring at myself in the mirror in disbelief. I used no other face makeup at all, just eyes and lips to finish off the look. I wish I ended up wishing I did have somewhere to be!
If YOU would like to give this magic a try for yourself, Luminess Air was kind enough to send me a coupon code for 20% off, just use 595732926 at checkout.
The deets: Leather Soludos: Pom Pom Sandals; Prada Sunnies; Karen Walker Sunnies; Star Mela beach bag; Sundress coverup; Scallop bikini. Everything you see is 25% off with code "INTHEFAM."
I recently made Memorial Day weekend plans to go up to Ocean City, MD. Since booking the trip all I can think about are swim suits, beachy sundresses, and sunnies so naturally when I heard Shopbop was having their annual Friends & Family sale I went right to the summer selections. I also think it's a great time to pick up your summer sunnies and beach bag as those are some bigger ticket items that don't usually go on sale but you get so much use out of. I wear these two pairs ALL THE TIME and use my gorgeous Star Mela bag for every beach trip (last seen here, here, here and here and raved about the cute brand here).
