Okay this is a new post theme that I will be doing every so often asking for fashion advice (as I clearly need some) because you guys always look so great and the blogosphere is teeming with fashionable ladies. So here is my first question for you guys: is wearing just two colors throughout your entire outfit okay?
I pulled a third grade move today before a brunch with girlfriends and just put on things that were the same color form my closet (aka takes no fashion sense at all whatsoever). The two colors of choice happened to be very light pink and black. I feel like there's so much color blocking/pattern mixing going on these days that regular old putting two colors together is probably a no-no. Am I sporting a major faux pas here peeps? HELP.
Love,
Erin
I love your sweet polka dot blouse! And your shoes are fabulous!

DeleteGreat look! You got a new follower :) Check my blog and if you like it, you are welcome to do the same! Kisses <3<3
ReplyDeleteThanks, Silvia :)
DeleteActually you're wearing 3 colors, with the white shirt underneath :)
ReplyDeletePersonally I think that it's perfectly fine, especially when you're not wearing just the plain colors but also an interesting texture or pattern (like your polka dot shirt). If you feel that the look is too pale, you can always add some bold colorful jewelry or accessories. Having that said, I think you look lovely :)

You always look adorable so adorable so thanks for the tip, Annie!
DeleteIf I learned anything at Bloomies, it's that mis-matching is best. The stylist loveee mixing up colors. No worries, Habes...you're good!

DeleteI love you blouse!! I think it's fine to wear only two colors. Personally I may have put on jeans or darker pants, but I think you look really cute with the light cords too :)
ReplyDeleteI routinely only wear two colors. I think it lets you feature one pretty item, like your polka dot top. I personally like having one simple focal point sometimes and that's what this outfit does.

As much as color blocking is big right now, neutrals are a great choice. I love the look, especially with the polka dots.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, E!
DeleteGirl, it's okay to tone it down....I think what you have on his timeless and classic. Pieces that will never expire. I love neutrals and you look fab!

DeleteI absolutely think you can do just two colours! I think the trick is to just do different textures and patterns to make it interesting. Love this casual but chic look!

DeleteI think you look so cute! I love your top. I see no fashion faux pas happening here. You could totally add a bright pop of color if you want, in a bag or shoe or accessory, but you don't have to. And LOVE your hair!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jackie! Maybe next time I will throw in a brightly colored accessory per your suggestion :)
DeleteI think you can do two colours for sure! I particularly love the shirt!
ReplyDeleteIf you did want to add more colour though, it would be easy to add a different coloured bag, a scarf, or fun coloured shoes :) Just if you want to, not that you have to!
great outfit! i especially love the zara booties.
ReplyDeleteOh - Fancy That.
I think its okay to wear only two colors, as long as you accessorize with jewelry, or something that can really put some contrast into it, or a belt with a bright color. :)

I think two colors can definitely work... it's classic! And like some other people have already suggested, you can always add a splash of color with some accessories or shoes! You can't ever go wrong with a nice scarf to mix things up! Or you could wear the same two colors, but in different patterns. That would definitely add a little visual interest too.
ReplyDeleteBut over all, two colors? Perfectly acceptable in my book! :)
