..Take What You Need

August 27, 2012

Last night I just didn't feel like putting together a blog post.  This unfortunately has been happening somewhat regularly in the last month and I'm beginning to feel that I'm spreading myself a bit too thinly.  Do you guys ever feel like your "free" time is so riddled with date nights, promises to friends, and other obligations that you don't have any time to just get back to neutral?  I look at my iCal that's speckled with appointment dots with sadness sometimes because I miss time alone with myself, especially now that I am a co-habitator of over a year now.  When Mike had his fantasy draft last night it meant that I had the house alone to myself for a few hours.  The last thing I wanted to do was sit on the computer, so I didn't.  I hope you guys can forgive my post-slacking booty but I just needed a little "me time."  Back to regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.

  2. omg, gurl, YESSSSSSSSS!!! happens all the time. your remark about iCal makes me realize i have NO way to stay organized with appointments and commitments, aside from Outlook calendar at work, but still. Kyle will be going out of town on Wednesday and I do not have a trainer session at the gym, so I might take the night off from blogging for a little me time too!! it's good for the soul.

  3. definitely. I secretly love when James has little obligations that I can't partake in so that I can light a candle, watch a terrible chick-flick, read and go to bed exactly when I want. Don't apologize!!

  4. I totally understand this and feel this way all the time. It's definitely ok to let some things go so you can get back to normal! I did that this weekend.. made no plans and just did whatever I felt like doing. It was great and I feel a lot better. I hope you can recharge and get back to normal soon!

  5. You go get yo-self some YOU time... and enjoy it! No guilt allowed. We have ALL been there... I am currently not talking to my iCal because it is being a little you know what, telling me what to do every hour of every day! Hope you get some recharge in your batteries

  6. Nothing wrong with that, I definitely have days like that too. I don't even try to post every day anymore. I generally skip weekends and do about four posts a week. I don't want blogging to feel like a chore!

  8. Girl, you don't have to tell me twice!! I think we are all guilty of spreading ourselves too thin...it's in our blood...try and take a few hours a week for just yourself...it's the only way I stay sane! ;) Have a great week, pretty!

  9. I've been feeling the same exact way lately--in fact, this week I took off a day from work just to have time by myself before the summer closes out...I think it's so important and it definitely recharges me!
