..Pretend Haircuts

January 11, 2012

This is the super awesome hair trick I was talking about Tuesday.  I saw it here and thought it would be fun to try out because I have always had really long hair.  I am one of those girls who freaks out about getting her hair cut, finally gets a trim, and cries when it comes out the tiniest bit too short (you know the type..I'm not proud).  This is a fun way for me to dip my toe in the short hair pool without the tears!  It was really fun and works well with haircuts that have layers in them. I just put my hair half up, bobby pinned the bottom half down, and then curled the top layers over it.   I pinned a little up from each side to finish the look.  What do you guys think?

  1. I'm exactly like you when I get my hair cut. I panic when they're cutting it and get upset if I think they cut more than a cm off! haha!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

  2. Love it! And I have debated about bobbing my hair for some time but I can't muster the courage! I know I would miss it way too much, so this is a perfect solution :)

  5. I think this hairstyle suits you quite well :) though I'm getting more and more upset with my current hairdresser. She tends to cut way more than I have asked for, I'm not sure if she's getting super stressed, but still not a very good excuse to ruin my hair D:

  7. This is such an awesome idea! I am completely like you when it comes to cutting my hair, but I still took the plunge recently. There's some days when I love, but it's so hard to maintain! This might have been a smarter idea :)

  13. This makes me yearn for the days when I had long hair. Although my hair doesn't hold a curl as nicely as yours.

  23. I saw that tutorial as well. I would try it, but I can't manage to do anything right on the back of my head besides pulling a straightener through it. I don't think I could handle all of the pinning. I seriously have trouble with ponytails.

  29. I love your hair, it's so shiny! My hair is quite short at the moment, just above my shoulder. I try to grow it but then it annoys me and I cut it again, woops.

  30. Such a handy trick for girls with long hair. I'm too scared to cut my hair and then have to regrow it, but I also want a new look at times, definitely going to try this!
