The deets: Bauble Bar statement necklace; Gorjana rose gold stackable rings; Vince Camuto booties; Frye booties; Rag & Bone fedora; Bobbi Brown smokey nudes pallet; Sole Society fedora; Nars "Chinatown" polish; Clare V leopard pouch.

Today has been the first morning I've woken up to under 70 degree weather and I've already totally got fall on the brain.  Even though I will be spending my glorious 85 and sunny Saturday soaking up rays while watching my JMU Dukes take on the MD Terps, here are a few little details that have me excited about the coming cooler months!

..Work Stripes

The deets: J.Crew blazer & earrings; dress c/o The Pink Armoire; Zara heels (similar); Gigee Marie clutch; SMU sunnies; Alex & Ani bracelets.

Even though we get casual Fridays at work I usually opt not to participate in the summer. Who wants to wear jeans in 80-90 degree weather when you can get away with wearing an easy breezy dress by throwing a blazer over it? No one. That's who. Added bonus: switch out your flats and tote for some fun heels and a clutch and you are happy hour ready in two shakes of a lambs tail (so my grandmother would say). WIN!

..Food Should Taste Good - Two Ways Plus a $100 Giveaway!

If you guys are like me on the weekdays you wake up, go through your morning routine, work nine hours, brave the metro ride back exhausted, then finally arrive home straight up RAVENOUS (or is that just me?). For this reason I like to have some healthier snack options on hand to help keep my hunger pangs at bay until I'm able to finish cooking dinner. My new favorite lighter chips are the Food Should Taste Good Blue Corn & Multigrain Tortilla Chips/Crackers. They are made with nuts, flaxseed, quinoa, organic blue corn, and all kinds of other healthful stuff yet are still SO DELISH. I like to break out the restaurant style salsa with blue corn chips for when I am in a hurry.  Since I had a little extra time while home stick on Monday, I came up with a pretty quick and basic spinach artichoke dip that pairs sensationally with the multigrain variety. Recipe below!

1 8 oz package of cream cheese
1 14 oz can artichoke hearts
3/4 cups frozen chopped spinach (thawed and thoroughly drained)
1/2 cup light mayo
1/3 cup canned drained mushrooms
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
2/3 cups shredded mozzarella

Mix all ingredients but the mozzarella in a large bowl (no mixer required) until well combined. Add mixture to an 8x8 inch baking dish and sprinkle mozzarella on top.  Bake on 350 for 15 minutes or until cheese is a little browned and melty.

BONUS: Win a $100 Visa gift card along with a 9-Piece Square Dipping Set, Nostalgia Electric Fondue Pot, including 6 forks, Stainless Steel Snack Bowl, and a variety of Food Should Taste Good products! Winner will be picked next Friday (US residents only).

..Beachy Bachelorette Gift Totes

The deets: Forever21 totes; Old Navy flip flops; Urban Outfitter polishes; Amazon sunnies and lip candies; TiedUpLooseEnds custom hair ties; Etsy custom koozies

You know I love to put together a goody bag (see also these & these). With the help of the other bridesmaids, we put pretty awesome gift totes together for all the bachelorette attendees. Our bride to be is super eco friendly (works for the Environmental Protection Agency and all) so in addition to nixing the wrapping paper for her shower, we got reusable totes instead of regular throw-away gift bags. We also tried to make sure to include lots of things you'd want at the beach; rubber filps, sunnies, hair ties, koozies, etc. Each chica got a different combination of colors too so you didn't feel too clone-like. Don't you just love how they came out? I wish every weekend was this much fun.

..Beach Trip Essentials

..Beach Trip Essentials
I am heading off to the beach tomorrow for a besties bachelorette and much needed long weekend vacation. I have shared with you in the past what my top ten beach essentials are but have since grown up a little and switched up some of my favorite things/products so I figured it would be a good time to do an updated post about it.

1. A fun and flattering beach cover-up. I found this Nanette Lepore one on sale and it feels like a dream and makes me feel good in my skin which is very important.

2. One place that I do NOT want burned cracked skin that doesn't always get as much attention as the rest of my body is my lips - not cute. This Fresh Sugar SPF 15 untinted lip treatment is great! It doesn't taste like SPF and keeps my lips happy.

3. I recently invested in this scent because it is a beautiful scenic walk along the ocean at sunset for your senses. It instantly transports me to somewhere tropical. Bobbi Brown's Beach fragrance is oceany but also still sophisticated and womanly - perfection!

4. This Hawaiian Tropic SPF 8 Protective Tanning Lotion is my go to, no oily residue, simple & effective.

5. If ever there is a time to let your wild locks be their little wild selves, set them free at the beach. Just tame them a bit with some nourishing Moroccan Sea Salt Spray

6. Heels and deck boards are not your friend, especially after a few orange crushes, so packing them doesn't make sense (I learned this the very hard, very bloodied toe way). Cute flats and maybe a wedge or two are really all you need.  I love these Steve Madden ones because they have just a little edge.

7. I love this Ralph Lauren Tote. It's not necessarily supposed to be a beach bag, but the bright orange polyurethane interior and cutout details kind of scream sand friendly to me!

8. For whatever reason, I tend to tire of the sun on my face before anywhere else, so keeping a cute J.Crew Panama Hat around is always a good idea.

9. Cheap designer-esque sunnies for under ten bucks are exactly what I like for the sandy, lotion-y, might-fall-off-into-the-ocean-y type of beach trips. If I can't bare the thought f ruining/losing them - they aren't coming down to the water with me.

..Bedazzled Stripes

The deets: JOA skirt; LOFT linen tank; Shoedazzle heels; MK watch; Fornash bracelet; Francesca's necklace (similar, love this one too); Gigi New York clutch; SMU sunnies (love these).

It has been a long weekend for me, Friday my office also held a "Field Day" which embarrassingly enough left me in too much pain the next day to do anything else the rest of the weekend, Mike being out of town and leaving all the doggie walking duties to me has been a little bit of a challenge in my current state. Hence, this outfit is actually from last weekend when I was out and about. Happy Monday, back to the grind.
