If there is one thing I love most about dressing for sunny days it's the possibility of getting to wear a hat. I don't know why but I feel prettier in them, more put together and lady-like. They cover up bad hair days, protect your mug from sunburn, and just add general character. Above are some favorites from seasons past, some ones I recently purchased, and some I have my eye on!

I love these leather leggings SO MUCH. They are not very expensive but look luxe enough for me. I got them for my sister for xmas last year and she loves them too! I also live in this souchy sweater (I got it in beige too since I liked it so much) and would definitely say it goes nicely with the leggings as an easy flattering outfit on any body shape. Easy peasy. If you have a trendy girl on your list these make a great presents, especially paired together!

Last week was DC's restaurant week (a.k.a. the glorious week where they let riff-raff like me into highfalutin places to eat three course meals for reasonable prices) and I went on a little lunch date to Brasserie Beck to take advantage. It was probably one of my favorite restaurant week experiences to date. We indulged in pumpkin soup, veal meatballs, creamy muscles, leek and wild mushroom crepes, red velvet waffles, and creme brulee. The lunch feast was polished off with a couple of espressos (for fanciness and to avoid going into food comas on the metro ride back to Arlington). Needless to say, I was so glad I wore this peplum top as it was very conducive to camouflaging my full tum tum.

I have had this H&M jacket for ten years and still wear it once and a while. I love the subtle little sparkly button that makes it just a tad more glam than it would be without it. While I am unfortunately stuck at work on this NYE morning I will be spending the evening with good friends, tasty food, lots of bubbles, and hopefully dancing (my favorite form of cardio). Here is to 2014 being the best year yet. I having a feeling it's going to be one of my favorites!

I am very excited to share an extra special post with you guys today. Basically, you get a three for one, which is the best thing ever. After a couple blogger friends and I realized we all had the same jeans we thought 1. that we all obviously have good taste (duh) and 2., why not collab on a post? I love how you can take these jeans and do a million things with them depending on your personal style. I went with a slouchy tee and edgy details, Alissa of Feeling Good Style went more classy with chic heels and and a blouse, and Alison of Chain Strap Purse went cozy and polished (try not to be too jealous of her amazing head of hair). So on Saturday an older salt & peppered gentleman told me I looked like I was headed to a Metallica concert in this outfit. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that but I assume it's because my shirt pockets, bracelet, and necklace all seem to have or be spiky things. I guess to older people that did not grow up in the age of "spiky chic" that means aggressive heavy metal lover. I'm okay with that.

I don't think this post needs much explanation. Although I am in LERVE with #6, that kind of cashish was just not in the budget for flats so I went with #4. I would have gone with #5 but they ran out of my size so quickly! Go get your leopard on ladies.

Recently I can't resist a good leather (or faux leather) detail. It seems to make otherwise boring things (like a plain white t-shirt) instantly edgy and fun. I have been on the hunt for a cute leather sleeved top for a while now and really loved how soft and cozy this one was while still feeling special. And don't forget to some see me this Saturday at NoVA Mag's kick off fashion event!

I am coveting white denim this week and have been scouring the internet and local shopping malls for the perfect pair. GAP is usually my go-to place for denim since the cut is accommodating for girls with badonkadonks like mine (and super affordable), however, I am trying to break out of my same brand shell so I went ahead and tried on the J.Crew ones in the store last weekend. They actually fit great! My dilemma is that my all time favorite pair of jeans that I can remember from life were AG Adriano Goldschmied's that lasted me FOREVER so I am inclined to go and check them out too. So torn! What to do? Do you guys have a pair of white jeans you would recommend? Help a sister out!

One of my besties was in town last weekend from NY and we had a such fun time together. Even though the night included a seriously epic journey to a friends place involving one car break down, getting lost in pouring rain, spike heels, and one umbrella split between us, we always manage to find the humor in any situation. We busted Siri out, found the party, blew dry our outfits in the bathroom, and immediately made our way to the shot station. She is one fun chick who inspires me to take more fashion risks and break out of my normal signature style uniform. Camo print and pastels, man. Shaking things up over here.
