Being back in NJ for the holiday for a whole week was seriously amazing. I honestly can't remember a time in over six years that I was able to spend more than four or five days with my family so it was a true treat. I got to catch up with old high school friends (this is the outfit I wore to meet them for drinks by the water), eat amazing Italian food, bake and decorate cookies from scratch with my sister, spend so much time with my family, give gifts, and the weather was this amazing cherry on top. Can you believe it was almost 60 degrees? Cray. You can see a few other moments from my trip home here.

I helped throw a baby shower for one of my best friends last weekend. When I saw this perfect little baby boy blue, flowy, summery, striped set on Kendi, I knew it had to be mine in time to wear for the party. I immediately scoured the internet, found one in my size, and slapped a two day shipping on it. Love at first sight totally happens via outfits on people you don't know sometimes guys, and it's awesome. And I know I totally cut myself off from buying any more striped dresses but this one is a two piece so it technically doesn't count right? Right.

This is probably my favorite shape of all time. You've seen it here time and time again, but the fit and flare dress can just DO NO WRONG in my book. Keep 'em comin. Although I have had a very strong penchant for striped dresses recently and almost reached for another while shopping at LOFT for the perfect dress to wear to the Style, Sips & Sweets event, I eventually made my way over to these pretty dots and knew it was the one. Last one in the store in my size, you guys know that obviously means it's meant to be!

Valentine's Day happened to fall on a Friday where my office was released early this year. This was such a treat because I actually got to take my time and get ready for our date to Ardeo + Bardeo (the food was amazeballs, bee tee dubs) and drink some wine with the boyfriend before heading out to our reservation. It was also pretty nice to be able to take my roses home form the office and enjoy them at home while they were in their peak prettiness for a three day weekend. Aren't they gorgeous? And no I'm not wearing any tights here, me leggies are just THAT pale y'all.

This is the outfit I wore to an impromptu dinner at Chima (a Brazilian steakhouse) with one of my besties. To all my DC/VA locals - this place was FABULOUS, do yourself a favor and go (unless you are a vegetarian...it's basically a meat party) everything I tried was fantastic.
Anyway - I wanted a quick way to really change up my look. All it took was parting my hair down the middle in stead of on the side, skipping eye makeup all together, and choosing a really bold purple lipstick instead of my light pink go-to. Try it and see how different you feel!
I'm currently coveting these ZARA Strappy High-Heel Sandals.
These could be the most perfect spring to summer shoes. They are strappy and fabulous and they don't care who knows it. Perfect pop of color (you guys know I love me a colorful shoe seen here, here, here, and here just to give a few examples) to complete any look. I see them with cropped jeans, a white flowy cotton dress, sexied up with a black mini...you name it and it fits the bill! LUSTING. LOVING. COVETING!

My sister is in town visiting for a few days until I have to go back up to NJ on Friday for a wedding and although fall fashion is noticeably on everyones minds, I think when going out to have Mexican in the midst of summer, you need to get decorated in your brightest summer attire and go at it. Hope everyone is having an amazing week!

I know it's not really cool anymore to perfectly match your outfits, it's all about color blocking, pattern mixing, ombre, monotone, making yourself look as crazy unique and decorated as possible, blah blah blah. I realize all of this and have to say, as you guys have probably picked up on by now if you read my blog often, I do it anyway because... IMMA DO WHAT I DANG WELL PLEASE! THAT'S WHY!

I feel like recently I have been very neglectful of silver. Gold came in with all its pretty shiny fabulosity and stole all my attention, so I've been making it a point to spend some more quality time with my silver accessories so they don't think I've abandoned them. I know it's not as cool as it once was, but I still love it paired up with a fresh minty blue color. Do you guys still rock silver? I'd love to know!
